The American standard ASTM E119 is used to determine the fire resistance performance of various building structures. Different products and different uses have similarities and differences in the basis for determination.

ŸFire resistance integrity:
Under standard fire resistance test conditions, the ability of building partition components to prevent flames and hot air from penetrating or flames from appearing on the back-fire side for a certain period of time when one side is exposed to fire.
ŸFire resistance thermal insulation:
Under standard fire resistance test conditions, the ability of building partition components to prevent the back-fire side temperature from exceeding the specified value for a certain period of time when one side is exposed to fire.
No matter what kind of structural component it is, it needs to be evaluated from basic aspects such as integrity and thermal insulation performance.
For example:
Whether it is a fire door, fire wall, ceiling or other building component, it is necessary to examine whether there are penetrating cracks or other phenomena that affect integrity during the test, and the back-fire side temperature must be measured to determine the thermal insulation.

For example:
Different types of fire doors have different specific temperature limits and time requirements in terms of integrity and thermal insulation, depending on their usage scenarios and fire protection requirements. The Class A fire doors used in general buildings require a fire resistance limit of 1.5 hours, and the temperature rise value of the back-fire surface within 1.5 hours must meet the corresponding strict regulations; while the fire doors used in some special places may have higher fire resistance requirements and more stringent related indicators.
