Properties & applications:
Tungsten has an extremely high melting point of 3420°C. Molybdenum also has a high melting point of 2622°C. Their good thermal stability and high strength performance makes them ideal for high temperature application.
Tungsten & Molybdenum bolts have high strength, excellent corrosion resistance, and superior temperature stability.
Compared to other metals like stainless steel or alloy steels, they offer higher strength and good creep resistance at elevated temperatures.
They are common in components where high temperature heat tolerance is required, such as in the jet engines fuel systems, automotive engineering for exhausts, turbochargers and vacuum furnaces. Petrochemical plants use them due to corrosion resistance from harsh chemicals. Some industries also apply them to some radiation shielding parts.
