Liuli Knowledge
What is Liuli?Liuli is the Chinese pronunciation of colored glaze, can be defined as a lot of crystal glass. It's a kind of handcraft made by colored crystal, containing 24% lead peroixde. The brilliance of this material, intensity of colors, and the myriad subtle shades, all contributes for its singularity.
Lost-Wax Production Technic
First heat up colored glaze material over 1000 C, let it flow to the prepared mould. The mould is made after wax mould melted, so this is called lost-wax, aslo known as pate de verre in Europe. There are over twelve steps for this acient techinics, all steps can be only finished by human.
Product Color
Different metallic oxides are added into raw material before firing to get the flamboyant color. The color will never shade or be washed. Even the same item will show different for the speciality of lost-wax techinic. Bubbles are also the inevitable result of it. This made the value and sigularity of each piece.
