EECP is a non-invasive therapy for assisting circulation. Its mechanism is to use R-wave of human ECG as trigger signal to sequentially inflate and deflate during diastole and systole. During diastole, three sets of cuffs wrapped around limbs and buttocks inflate and force the artery blood to aorta to increase blood perfusion of vital organs like the heart, brain and kidneys. During systole, cuffs deflate to decrease heart workload and eject blood from heart to limbs. This is repeated again and again as per cardiac circle to achieve therapeutic goal.
