CE certification is a mandatory standard for exporting to the EU. Most companies exporting to the EU need to understand CE certification. So let's take a look at the process of applying for CE certification for polyurethane steel plates.
Step 1: Determine the EU coordinated standards, the coordinated standards that polyurethane steel plates need to comply with. Polyurethane steel plates are metal sandwich panels, and you can refer to the EU EN14509 coordinated standards.
Please refer to the name of EN14509 harmonized standard:
EN 14509: Self-supporting double skin metal faced insulating panels-Factory made products-Specifications.
Refer to the EN14509CE harmonized standard product scope, this European standard specifies the requirements for factory-made, self-supporting double-sided metal sandwich panels for discontinuous laying in the following applications:
a) Roofs and roof coverings
b) External walls and wall coverings
c) Walls (including partitions) and ceilings within the building envelope
Step 2: Determine the product CE certification system. Whether flame retardants are added or not, the certification process of the product is different.
ŸSystem 1: The product adds flame retardants (fire test is a must), use system 1 to apply for CE certification, and the notified body will conduct type testing, factory inspection and continuous supervision.
ŸSystem 3: The product does not add flame retardants (fire test is a must), and the notified body will conduct type testing to determine the product type.
Step 3: Apply for CE certification according to the determined system and send samples to the EU Notified Body for testing;
Step 4: Issue a test report + CE certificate based on the test results.
