Glucose (Chemical Formula C6H12O6) is one of the most widely distributed and most important monosaccharides in nature. It is a polyhydroxyaldehyde. Pure glucose is a colorless crystal, sweet but sweet less than sucrose (most people can not taste the sweet), soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether.
