Product Description Los angeles abrasion testing machine measure under the standard condition,coarse aggregate (sand) resistance to friction and impact ,abrasion loss expressed by percentage .
The L.A. abrasion machine is used to test crushed rock, slag, and gravel for their resistance to abrasion. The unit has a welded steel drum that has a 28" I.D. and is 20" long. The drum and the frame are welded to ensure strength and have a tight fitting cover and gasket. The drum is rotated at 30-33 RPMs by a 1 hp motor that is run through a gear reduction unit. The control panel has start, stop, and reset buttons. There is a manually set counter that stops the rotation at a preset number of revolutions. The drum can be turned by hand for ease in loading. The unit is furnished with a catch pan and 12 steel balls.
