0A grade sponge titanium is the basic link of titanium industry, it is the raw material of titanium material, titanium powder and other titanium components. Generally, it is light gray particles with clean surface.
0A grade titanium sponge (the spongy metal titanium) produced by metal thermal reduction method generally has a purity % (mass) of 99.1 to 99.7. The total impurity element % (mass) is 0.3-0.9, the impurity element oxygen % (mass) is 0.06-0.20, the hardness (HB) is 100-157.

Production Process
Titanium sponge is actually the same substance as titanium, but in a different form. In the smelting process of titanium, the product (titanium) obtained through the process of magnesium reduction-distillation of titanium tetrachloride looks like a sponge, hence the name sponge titanium. Their chemical formulas are represented by Ti.
Titanium magnesium reduction method to produce sponge titanium is to reduce titanium tetrachloride to titanium metal titanium with magnesium at high temperature. The reaction process involves multiple systems such as TiC14-Mg-Ti-MgC12-TiC13-TiC12, which is a complex physical process chemical process. The formula is as follows:
TiC14+2Mg=Ti+2MgC12
In order to obtain high-quality sponge titanium, Mg and MgCl2 must be separated.
Application
Sponge titanium is the raw material for the production of all titanium products, whether it is titanium plates, titanium rods, titanium processed parts, and sintered porous titanium filter elements used in the filtration and separation industry, cannot do without sponge titanium.
