Cryogenic deflashing technology utilizes a sophisticated system where rubber or plastic parts are placed in a specialized chamber. These parts are subjected to extremely cold temperatures, achieved through the use of liquid nitrogen, and are then tumbled in a barrel while being blasted with polycarbonate media.
Due to the fact that burrs and flashes have a significantly thinner surface area compared to their mass, they 'FREEZE' almost instantaneously, becoming brittle. The tumbling action, combined with the media's impact, effectively removes these burrs without damaging the integrity of the part itself.
Upon completing the cryogenic deburring process, parts are returned to room temperature. This method ensures a spotless finish, free of dust or residue, and achieves 100% burr removal.
Cryogenic deburring and deflashing are particularly well-suited for die-cast metal parts, intricate rubber components, precision elastomeric parts, medical devices, and microelectronic components.
