Overview: The multi-disk filter is an efficient solid-liquid separation equipment widely used in the pulp and paper industry, mainly for processes such as pulp washing, concentration, fiber recovery, and black liquor extraction. Its design combines the principles of vacuum filtration and continuous rotation, enabling efficient handling of slurry, improving pulp purity, and enhancing production efficiency.
Design Principle: In the pulp and paper process, the multi-disk filter achieves pulp washing and concentration through the following steps:
Pulp Filtration: Multiple filter disks rotate around a central shaft, with some of the disks submerged in the slurry tank. Under vacuum pressure, the liquid in the slurry passes through the filter cloth, while solid fibers are retained on the surface of the filter cloth, forming a filter cake.
Black Liquor Recovery: As the disks rotate, the black liquor in the filter cake is gradually extracted and enters a vacuum channel for recovery, which is then reused for chemical processes.
Filter Cake Removal: After the disk leaves the slurry tank, the filter cake is further dried in a dewatering area, and it is removed by a scraper or a reverse air-blow device, completing the cycle.
