Greased zinc coated steel wire strand as per BS EN 50189 & BS EN 50326 is made of multiple steel wires twisted together, and the surface is galvanized and coated with anti-rust oil, which has good corrosion resistance and tensile strength.
Galvanizing is one of the key steps in manufacturing of greased zinc coated steel strands. A uniform zinc layer is formed on the surface of the steel wire to improve its corrosion resistance.
Greasing is the last step in the manufacture of greased zinc coated steel wire strand, which can further extend the service life of steel wire strands and reduce friction damage during transportation and storage.
During packaging and storage stage,qualified greased steel wire strands are divided into appropriate lengths and packaged with plastic bags, wooden boxes and other packaging materials. The packaging should ensure the safety of the strands during transportation and storage to prevent damage and corrosion.
