The mud pump volute bushing is an important wear part of the mud pump. Together with the throat bushing and the frame plate bushing insert, it forms the mud pump chamber through which the mud will flow. The mud volute bushing is a curved funnel that increases in area toward the discharge port. It is usually used with a mud pump impeller. With the increase in cross-sectional area, the volute reduces the velocity of the liquid and increases the pressure of the liquid. The main purpose of the volute bushing is to help balance the hydraulic pressure on the mud pump shaft.
