Skid Resistance Tester
Usage:
It is a kind of determination of pavement, airport runway, marking paint and so on friction coefficient of the instrument.
1. Used to test skid resistance on existing road surfaces,
2. Consisting of a pendulum arm, rotating about a spindle attached to a vertical pillar and mounted on a trianglar base with adjustable feet.
This method provides a measure of the skid resistance properties of a surface either in the field or in the laboratory. This method measures the skid resistance of a small area of a surface (approximately 0.01 m2) and this should be considered when deciding its applicability to a pavement surface which may have variable surface characteristics, e. G. Block paving. This apparatus is used for the skid resistance measurement of asphalt pavement and concrete pavement, in order to evaluate the skid resistance of pavement in moist condition.
