General Introduction
Trichloroisocyanuric Acid (hereinafter is abbreviated to TCCA) is an organic compound, white crystalline powder or granular solid, with strong irritating smell of chlorine. TCCA is a strong oxidant and chlorination agent, with high efficiency, broad spectrum, relatively safe disinfection, killing effect on bacteria, viruses, fungi, spores, etc., also has a certain killing effect on coccidia oocysts.
Continuous and Automatic TCCA production plant takes cyanuric acid, caustic soda and chlorine as raw material, and adopts continuous chlorination and crystallization process, to produce finished product TCCA. And specification of TCCA as below:
Process Description
Process decription of TCCA Production
Cyanouric acid (solid) reacted with 32% caustic soda solution and clean water and cyanuric acid trisodium salt solution is produced. Cyanuric acid trisodium salt solution was refined to remove impurities, and then reacted with chlorine gas, trichloroisocyanuric acid (slurry) was produced. After solid-liquid separation, trichloroisocyanuric acid (wet material, moisture content ≤ 5%) was obtained .
The chlorination reaction of cyanuric acid trisodium salt solution was carried out in a multistage countercurrent continuous reactor, which is composed of a pre-chlorination reactor, a chlorination reactor, matching heat exchangers and circulating pumps. According to the characteristics of formation reaction of trichloroisocyanuric acid, the main chlorination reactor is equipped with a chlorine absorption section and the trichloroisocyanuric acid crystallization section internally, which could realize higher chlorine utilization rate and higher conversion rate of cyanuric acid trisodium salt, and meanwhile, could obtain larger crystal size of trichloroisocyanuric acid (the moisture content of wet material of trichloroisocyanuric acid after filtration was less than 5%.)
Process Decription of Mother Liquor Treatment
The wastes discharged from the trichloroisocyanuric acid production procedure are mainly the mother liquor, the discharge capacity is 9 ~ 10 tons / ton TCCA, and the main components are trichloroisocyanuric acid ~ 1.0%, sodium chloride, ~ 8 -10%, active chlorine ~ 0.4%, PH ~ 4.0. Therein, trichloroisocyanuric acid is matter dissolved, and sodium chloride is by-product of reaction, and the active chlorine is from the trichloroisocyanuric acid and the chlorine dissolved in mother liquor.
The treatment process of trichloroisocyanuric acid mother liquor is mainly divided into four steps: acidizing decomposition, recovery of cyanuric acid recovery, resin adsorption and deep oxidation. That is, hydrochloric acid is added firstly to react with trichloroisocyanuric acid in mother liquor, and the trichloroisocyanuric acid is decomposed into cyanuric acid and chlorine gas. Then the mother liquor is filtered and the precipitated cyanuric acid is recovered. Then the mother liquor is adsorbed with resin to remove the dissolved cyanuric acid. Finally, alkali and chlorine are added into the mother liquor, sodium hypochlorite is formed to decompose the residual cyanuric acid and other ammonia nitrogen compounds.
The core technology of trichloroisocyanuric acid mother liquor treatment is adsorption treatment. The resin used is macroporous adsorption resin. Cyanouric acid dissolved in trichloroisocyanuric acid mother liquor is selectively adsorbed by the resin in molecular state, and then the resin is treated with sodium hydroxide solution, so that the adsorbed cyanuric acid in the resin was released from the resin in ion state.
After treatment, the total nitrogen (Kjeldahl nitrogen) in the mother liquor is less than 60 ppm, the free chlorine carbon is less than 15 ppm, and the sodium chloride content is about 10%. It could be discharged up to local standard.
