Product properties:
Sodium sulfite is an inorganic compound. It is a white granular powder at room temperature, has a sulfur dioxide odor, is stable when dry, and is sensitive to humidity. Soluble in water and glycerin, insoluble in ethanol, the aqueous solution is alkaline, the aqueous solution is alkaline to litmus paper and phenolphthalein, and the reaction with acid produces toxic sulfur dioxide gas, the pH of 1Chemicalbook% aqueous solution is 8.3~9.4, and has strong reducibility. When heated, it decomposes into sodium sulfide and sodium sulfate, which are gradually oxidized to sodium sulfate when placed in the air. In nature, anhydrous sodium sulfite, sodium sulfite heptahydrate and sodium sulfite decahydrate exist in three forms, of which anhydrous sodium sulfite is the most difficult to be oxidized.
Application:
Anhydrous sodium sulfite can be used as artificial fiber stabilizer, fabric bleaching agent, photographic developer, dye bleaching deoxidizer, fragrance and dye reducing agent, lignin removal agent for paper making, etc. :
In the printing and dyeing industry can be used as a deoxidizer and bleaching agent, used in the cooking of various cotton fabrics, which can prevent the local oxidation of cotton fibers and affect the fiber strength, and improve the whiteness of cooking compounds.
It can also be used to make cellulose sulfite ester, sodium thiosulfate, organic chemicals, bleaching fabrics, etc., and is also used as a reducing agent, preservative, dechlorination agent, etc.
It is used for the determination of trace analysis of tellurium and niobium and the preparation of developing Chemicalbook solution, and is also used as a reducing agent and a developer in the photographic industry.
In the organic industry, it is used as a reducing agent in the production of m-phenylenediamine, 2, 5-dichloroprazolone, anthraquinone-1-sulfonic acid, 1-aminoanthraquinone, sodium aminosalicylate, etc., which can prevent the oxidation of semi-finished products in the reaction process.
Used as a reducing agent in the production of dehydrated vegetables. Lignin removal agent used in paper industry.
Used in the textile industry as a stabilizer for artificial fibers.
Used as a common analytical reagent and photoresistor material, the electronics industry is used to manufacture photoresistors.
Water treatment industry for electroplating wastewater, drinking water treatment.
