Tempered Low-E glass is a specialized type of glass that combines two key technologies for enhanced performance: tempering and low-emissivity (Low-E) coating.
1, Tempered Glass
1) Tempering is a heat-treatment process that strengthens the glass, making it 4–5 times stronger than regular annealed glass.
2) When broken, tempered glass shatters into small, dull pieces (instead of sharp shards), improving safety.
3) It is highly resistant to thermal stress and impact, making it ideal for windows, doors, shower enclosures, and facades.
2, Low-E (Low-Emissivity) Coating
1) A microscopically thin, virtually invisible metallic or ceramic coating applied to the glass surface.
2) Reflects infrared (heat) radiation, helping to:
① Reduce heat transfer (keeps interiors warmer in winter and cooler in summer).
② Block harmful UV rays (protects furniture and fabrics from fading).
