Optical uniformity
Optical uniformity refers to the degree of uniformity in the refractive index of each part of a piece of glass. For optical glass used in high-precision optical systems, the refractive index change in each glass must be small, that is, the optical uniformity is good. The optical uniformity index should be determined according to the application and the final geometric size of the optical element.
Optical uniformity is represented by the maximum value Δnmax of the refractive index difference between various parts in a piece of glass.Measured according to the test method specified in GB/T7962.2-2010, divided into 4 categories, see the table below.
