Product Description
PA6 plastic pellets Characteristics
PA6 (polyamide 6) is a polymer compound, also known as nylon 6. PA6 is a semi crystalline polymer with excellent mechanical strength, stiffness, thermal stability, and low-temperature impact resistance. Its molecular formula is [- NH - (CH2) 5-CO] n -, and its appearance is a semi transparent or opaque milky white crystalline polymerization.
Properties
The density of PA6 is about 1.14 g/cm ³, and it has a high water absorption rate (about 2.8%), which allows it to maintain excellent mechanical properties in humid environments. The melting point of PA6 is 215-225 ºC, and it has good heat resistance and self extinguishing properties. It has excellent resistance to aliphatic hydrocarbons,, and lubricants. PA6 also has good wear resistance and self-lubricating properties, with a friction coefficient of about 0.2 for oil-free lubrication.
