Impregnated Diamond Core Bit is made from high-quality synthetic diamond and metal powder which could be used in various types of strata. The best effect is achieved through the flexible design according to the different strata and parameters of drilling equipment.
Surface Set Diamond Bit is produced from a single layer of natural diamond setting on the surface of bit crown with hard matrix, and primarily recommended for drilling relatively soft, abrasive, unconsolidated formations that are not effectively drilled by impregnated diamond bit. It is also recommended for drilling harder formations, which the available rotary speeds and bit loads are insufficient to use impregnated diamond bits due to drilling equipment limitations.
In most cases, Surface Set Diamond Bits will provide higher rates of penetration than in softer formations due to the greater degree of exposure of the individual diamond crystals.
Tungsten Carbide Core Bits are designed especially for soil investigation and geotechnical drilling, but also suitable in some applications for mineral exploration. As the tungsten Carbide is softer than diamond stones, the formations are limited in the range of soft or some medium rocks, like the overburden drilling, cleaning of drill holes, e.g. for the removal of steel fragments in hole.
PDC Core Bit has a long working Life, very fast penetration and high percentage core recovery in soft to hard rock formations. PDC bit mostly be used for drilling with air, mud or foam flushing.
