Description
Rotary switches can be used to replace the rotary pulse generator with the analog function of traditional resistive potentiometers. These rotary switches are usually used in the man-machine interface of the instrument front panel and the audio-visual control panel. The rotary switches use orthogonal optical encoders as pure digital devices to replace the analog potentiometers. But the interiors of these rotary switches are entirely digital and use optical technology.
