CPC certification is the Children's Product Safety Certificate (CPC), which is applicable to all products aimed at children aged 12 and under, such as toys, cradles, children's clothing, etc. If produced in the United States, the manufacturer is responsible for providing the certificate. If manufactured in other countries, the importer is responsible for the supply. In other words, cross-border sellers as "importers" who want to sell products made in Chinese factories to the US need to provide CPC certificates to Amazon as a retailer/distributor. When the product categories related to children are launched on Amazon USA, including toys, baby products, etc., CPC certificate is required, otherwise the products will not be sold.
Amazon USA CPC certification requirements:
The CPC certificate required for normal export of children's products to the United States should contain the following information:
- Product information (name and description);
-All regulations and regulations applicable to the product;
- Information about the importer or manufacturer (in the United States) : including name, address, and telephone number;
- Contact information of the certificate's test result file holder: name, address, email address and telephone number;
-Production date and address of the product, the production date must be up to month and year, and the address must be in the city;
- Detection time and address or certificate-based detection report;
- Information of third-party testing institutions (CPSC-approved laboratories) : name, address, contact number.
Test contents of CPC certificate: CPSC has published a total of 38 standards, mainly involving the following test contents:
1.CPSIA total lead and O-benzene;
2. American Toy Standard ASTMF963;
3. Safety standard for electric toys 16 CFR Part 1505;
4. Bell ringing toys require 16 CFR Part 1510;
5. Nipple safety standard 16 CFR Part 1511;
6. Children's clothing, carpet combustion performance, such as 16 CFR Part 1610;
7. Child products: child buggies, cribs, fences, braces, safety seats, and other product standards.
