Reagent contamination can elevate the background concentration of analytes in a sample, making it essential for laboratories to invest in high-purity acids for trace metal analyses. With limited sample sizes, maintaining low blank levels is crucial for reproducibility. NJbinglab’s SCH sub-boiling distillation systems enable laboratories to produce their own high-purity acids at significantly reduced costs.
The chemical reagents utilized during analysis are a major contributor to analytical blanks. Sub-boiling distillation is recognized as the most effective method for acid purification. This technique employs Wrap-around silicone heating jacket to vaporize the surface liquid at a temperature typically 20 °C below the boiling point.
In conventional distillation, the boiling process generates aerosolized particles, leading to contamination in the distillate. In contrast, the gentle surface evaporation used in sub-boiling distillation minimizes spray or droplet formation, resulting in high-purity acids.
