In the leather industry, it is used for hydrolyzing to depilate raw skin. It is also used for preparing sodium polysulfide to accelerate the water soaking of dry skin and help it to be soft. The paper industry uses it as a cooking agent for paper. The textile industry is used for the reduction of denitrification and nitrification of man - made fibres and as mordants for dyeing cotton fabrics. The pharmaceutical industry is used for the production antipyretics. In addition, it is also used to produce sodium thiosulfate, sodium thiohydride, sodium polysulfide and so on.
