What is a UR2 connector? 3m scotchlok idc K3 UR2 connectors (TP-1310-UR2), the small size of the UR2 connector reduces the splicing bundle O.D. The connector’s three ports accept three solid or stranded copper conductors. The connector is filled with a sealant to provide moisture resistance.It is employs an insulation displacement contact (IDC) so that stripping of the conductor insulation prior to installation is not required,and easily installed and crimped using any of the connector crimping tools TP-5931-311. It is applied to telephone wiring connection. The butt connector is designed for 0.4mm-0.9mm solid copper cables with max insulation diameters 2.08mm. The connector is filled with a moisture resistant compound in order to provide moisture proof connections.The connector can provide total environmental sealing around IDC-contacts.
