High carbon ferromanganese is an alloy composed of manganese and iron. It is produced by blast furnace and electric furnace. High carbon ferromanganese in electric furnace is mainly used in steelmaking as a deoxidizer, desulfurizer and alloy additive, and with the progress of low carbon ferromanganese production process, high carbon ferromanganese can also be used in the production of low carbon ferromanganese.
Physical properties: hard and brittle. Melting point: 1220-1270 degrees, density 7.1-7.4g/ cm3, compressive strength 70-90MPa. However, when the manganese content exceeds 82%, it is easily eroded into powder by moisture in the air. Therefore, products containing more than 82% manganese should pay attention to moisture during the process.
