Brief Description
The glass bead used for road marking is a kind of fine glass beads which is made of glass sand after high temperature melting through flame floating process. Microscopically, they are colorless, transparent spheres with diameters ranging from 90 microns to 1,400 microns. Now, glass beads have become an irreplaceable reflective material in road safety products.

The role of GLASS BEADS IN ROAD MARKING
Glass beads as a reflective material intermixed or drop on road marking paint, can provide retro-reflection for nighttime visibility of the road marking, improve the safety of driving at night, has been confirmed by the traffic management departments of various countries all over the world.
When the vehicle is driving at night, the light of the headlights is reflected on the road marking line with glass beads, but the light of the headlights is reflected back in parallel to driver through the reflection of the glass bead, so that the driver can see the way forward clearly, and improve the safety of driving at night.
Specification PropertiesThe beads shall be dry, free of lumps, clusters, transparent, clean, colorless glass, smooth and spherically shaped, free from milkiness, pits, or excessive air bubbles and conform to the following specific requirements.
-- Roundness - The glass beads(particles 0.6-0.8mm) shall have a minimum of 70 percent true spheres.
-- Refractive index - The glass beads shall have a minimum refractive index of 1.50.
-- Density - ≥ 2.4g/cm3 min.
-- Magnetic particle content - ≤0.1%
