The use of combine harvesters is seasonal and has a long idle time. To maintain the good technical condition of the harvester and extend its service life, maintenance during the idle phase is very important.
Remove all transmission belts, wipe them clean, apply talcum powder, hang labels indicating specifications and transmission parts, and store them on the warehouse wall; Remove all roller chains, clean them with diesel or kerosene, drain them, soak them in waste engine oil for about 30 minutes (or soak them in waste engine oil for 48 hours), remove them, drain the engine oil, dip them in heated and melted butter, then wrap them in kraft paper or oil resistant film, and store them in a dry and ventilated place
When the harvester is idle, dust, straw, seed bran and other debris should be cleaned as soon as possible, and the entire machine should be rinsed with pressure water (belts, appliances, etc. must be removed and placed separately before cleaning), and air dried. For metal parts (such as cutting parts), a layer of waste engine oil can be applied to the surface and newspaper can be pasted for protection. The paint removal part can be repainted with the same color of paint
