SACH Foot Prosthesis
The Solid Ankle Cushion Heel (SACH) foot is a basic, durable, inexpensive prosthetic foot option for those who require limited walking with little variation in speed and terrain type. The SACH foot consists of a soft material molded over a stiffer inner part that mimics the shape of a human foot. This type of foot can be used with a patient's first prosthesis after an amputation.
The SACH foot has adequate shock-absorbing properties for limited walkers due to its larger heel pad, but is ideal for moderate-to-high mobility who want to do more due to its lack of flexibility and inability to adapt to uneven terrain Not ideal for prosthetic users.
