Introduction
FR4is not a kind of material, but a grade of fire-resistance. It can extinguish itself when firing. Now there are various kinds of FR4 being used in PCB, while the majorities are made of epoxy resin, filler and fiberglass. FR4 is mainly used as insulation structure parts in electrical, electronic and other industries.
Properties
Mechanical Properties—Greater than paper base and composite materials.
Moisture Absorption—Lower than paper base and composite laminates.
Glass Transition Temperature—Higher than most FR-4 laminates.
Solder Float—Passes 160 seconds at 575°F.
