New Design Pgr Patellar Groove Replacement Implants and Instruments Set for Dogs

Product Description

The PGR device is a unique solution to address patellar luxation, a condition in which the kneecap dislocates from its normal position in the patellar groove. This is the first and only device on the market to restore a functional patellar groove.
Patellofemoral degenerative disease is a common, often overlooked consequence of some of the most common canine knee disorders, such as patellar luxation or cruciate ligament degeneration and rupture. Surgical treatment of patellar luxation, whether by transposition of the tibial tubercle or by corrective osteotomy of the femur and/or tibia and deepening of the patellar groove by one of several methods, is intended to restore stability to the joint.
PGR implants offer:
1: The patella is immediately stabilized in the smooth artificial groove to prevent dislocation
2: Two-component design consisting of base plate and artificial groove for easy and secure fixation
3: The smooth amorphous diamond-like carbon (ADLC) coating guarantees low friction, with a very low coefficient of friction (m=0.05 on steel), offering the possibility to keep heat generation below the thermal necrosis threshold.
4: Rapid ingrowth of placode bone facilitates surface treatment
