PTFE coating is a surface treatment that imparts physical properties such as fluoropolymer properties, such as non-adhesive, heat and cold resistance, slip properties, electrical properties, wear resistance, chemical resistance, corrosion resistance and non-wetting properties. Applications for Teflon coatings range from small parts such as bolts, nuts and bearings to large parts such as aerospace industrial equipment. It can be used over a wide range of 260 degrees to -240 degrees and has excellent non-flammability.
Typically, the substrate is degreased, roughened, primed and dried, and then baked using a spray gun or electrostatic powder sprayer. Therefore, it is not possible to coat the equipment as is with thermal equipment or accessories. The accuracy after spraying cannot be achieved with surface accuracy due to the execution of the spraying. Teflon coating can be used on metals in general, but may be distorted if the material is thin. Deformation is also possible when aluminium, copper or stainless steel are used up to a thickness of approx. 0.5 mm. In addition, Teflon coating is a surface treatment that can be reapplied. If the effect wears off during use, the properties can be restored by stripping it off and recoating it.
