Product Life Cycle Announcement Product: Moog Motion Controller MSC I D136-001-008 MSC I Motion Controller standard D136-001-007 MSC I Motion Controller with PROFIBUS DP slave interface Effective date: December 1 2018 Moog is extending the availability of its MSC I controller to June 30 2019. Therefore, this document replaces and updates previous product life cycle communications (dated August 2013 and February 2016) that announced a final delivery date of December 31 2017. This notice provides an updated schedule for the final conclusion of the sales, delivery, product support, service and repair processes. It establishes the timetable for the MSC I product obsolescence schedule, and details the key timelines and support options that are available to Moog customers, which are as follows: Date Program Activity MSC I August 2013 Original end of life announcement December 2018 End‐of‐sale (no longer open for orders or available for purchase) June 2019 Final date for last delivery of product June 2022 Final date of last product support, service and repair Moog offers the following products as functional replacements for the MSC I: the MSC II with extension modules QAIO 2/2 and QDIO 16/16; the MSD Motion Controller; and the MSC–R. In addition, Moog is currently developing its third generation of Moog Motion Controller, the MSC III.
The new model combines all the advantages of the MSC I (e.g. integrated analogue interfaces), with the features offered by the MSC II (e.g. real‐time fieldbus interfaces like EtherCAT) into one cost‐effective module. This new controller improves overall performance, includes additional advanced features and can be used in conjunction with the new Moog Application Software Suite (MASS). Moog anticipates that the new MSC III Motion Controller will be available for sale in November 2018. From August 2018, limited numbers of the new controller can be ordered for Moog internal applications. We encourage you to contact us today to learn about the additional functionality offered by the MSC III, and how you can transition to the latest technology.
