Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum The decanter centrifuge, commonly referred to as a 'decanter,' is ingeniously designed with key components including the drum, screw, differential, frame, and cover. These elements harmoniously rotate in the same direction at calculated differential speeds, ensuring optimal operation. Material is efficiently fed into the spiral inner cylinder through the feed pipe, then swiftly accelerated into the rotating drum. Centrifugal force acts to deposit heavier solids on the drum's wall, forming a sediment layer. The screw mechanism ensures continuous conveyance of sludge towards the drum cone's end, from where it is seamlessly expelled through the discharge port. The lighter liquid phase forms an inner liquid ring, elegantly spilling out through the overflow port at the drum's large end. It is then directed out via the drain port, achieving magnificent liquid-solid two-phase separation or even a liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation process.
