Product DescriptionSodium sulfide, also known as alkali sulfide, odorous soda, or odorous alkali, is a colorless or slightly purple prismatic crystal at room temperature. Industrial sodium sulfide often appears as pink, brownish red, or earthy yellow blocks due to impurities. It has a rotten egg odor, corrosiveness, toxicity, and a density of 2.427. Decompose at 920 ºC. It is soluble in cold water and easily soluble in hot water. When dissolved in water, it is almost completely hydrolyzed into sodium hydroxide and sodium hydrosulfide (with a solubility of 15.4g at 10 ºC and 57.2% at 90 ºC). The aqueous solution is strongly alkaline and corrosive to copper, wood, skin, etc. Slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. Sodium sulfide reacts with strong acid to release hydrogen sulfide. It is deliquescent in the air and easily oxidized to form sodium thiosulfate.Usage:
Used for producing advanced sulfurized dyes and high-quality leather products. Can be used for the production of high-end paper in the papermaking industry In the dye industry, it is used to produce sulfurized dyes and is the raw material for sulfurized blue and sulfurized blue. Used in the printing and dyeing industry as a dye aid for dissolving sulfurized dyes. In the leather industry, it is used for hydrolysis to remove hair from raw hides, and is also used to prepare sodium sulfide to accelerate the soaking and softening of dry hides. Used as a cooking agent for paper in the papermaking industry. Used in the textile industry for denitrification of artificial fibers and reduction of nitrates, as well as as as a mordant for dyeing cotton fabrics. The pharmaceutical industry is used to produce antipyretic drugs such as phenacetin. In addition, it is also used to produce sodium thiosulfate, sodium hydrosulfide, sodium polysulfide, etc.
