Kuchi Tribal Dance Belt Accessory
Completely hand beaded vintage item. You will receive the pair of beaded medallions shown in the photo connected by a beaded panel. Actual colors may vary depending on your monitor. Traditionally used to decorate dresses, these are known as "gul de peron", or dress flowers, in the Afghan Farsi language, made by little Afghan girls who specialize in bead work and embroidery.
Colorful Pashtun tribal motif. Pashtun are the majority ethnic group in Afghanistan. Use to make belts, head pieces, embellish costumes and clothing, or as wall hangings, coasters, tea mats, and trivets in your home. You can remove the round medallions with embroidery scissors or a seam ripper and you will have 2 medallions and 1 panel to use for your projects. Suitable for use in Navajo and other Native American baby naming ceremony traditions or as protective amulets. Handmade of tiny colored glass seed beads with cotton fabric backing.
SIZE: Dimensions are approximate. Beaded medallions measure 4" diameter connected by a 5" x 3" panel (overall length 13").
CONDITION: Good vintage condition. Some threads may need trimming, lining may need to be stitched in a few areas. Bead work is intact. Item needs a good cleaning. Circa mid to late 20th century.
COMPOSITION: Glass seed beads, cotton, may contain mirrors, rivets or metallic thread.
