Typical Structure of Decanter Centrifuge Drum The Decanter Centrifuge, commonly referred to as 'decanter,' comprises the drum, screw, differential, frame, cover, and more. The drum and screw ingeniously rotate at a specific differential speed in the same direction. The material is continuously introduced into the spiral inner cylinder via the feed pipe, where it is accelerated into the rotating drum. Under centrifugal force, heavy solid substances deposit on the drum wall, forming a sediment layer. The screw continuously propels the sludge to the end of the drum cone, discharging it through the designated port. The lighter liquid phase forms an inner liquid ring, spilling out of the drum through the overflow port at its large end and exiting through the drain port. This process realizes efficient liquid-solid two-phase separation or even liquid-liquid-solid three-phase separation.
