Piperazine pyrophosphate (PAPP), also known as piperazine polyphosphate (piperazine focusing phosphate), is a halogen-free environment-friendly intumescent flame retardant designed with phosphorus and nitrogen as the main flame retardant element. The appearance of piperazine pyrophosphate is white or almost white crystalline powder, which has the characteristics of high charring efficiency, good thermal stability, low smoke and non-toxic, light aging resistance, low hygroscopicity, and can be used in flame retardant products such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), polyurethane (PU), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS), epoxy resin (EP), etc
Piperazine pyrophosphate flame retardant acts as an efficient carbon source in polyolefins, and can be compounded with other phosphorous nitrogen flame retardants to produce synergistic flame retardant effect. The flame retardant mechanism of piperazine pyrophosphate is mainly based on its high carbon content and the flame retardant effect of expansion covering with acid source and gas source
