Alumina ceramic is a cost-effective precision ceramic that can be used in environments up to 1650°C. Its hardness is as high as 15.7Gpa and it is very wear-resistant. Other features: high electrical insulation, strong corrosion resistance, and high biocompatibility.
Alumina is a well-known and commonly used precision ceramic material. Its sintered crystals are the same as sapphires and rubies. It has been used in electrical components for decades due to its high electrical insulating properties. Due to its high strength, high corrosion resistance and high wear resistance, it has been widely used in mechanical parts.
Alumina has high temperature stability and is an excellent high temperature ceramic material. It is the most commonly used high-grade ceramic with a purity between 95-99.5%. Zhihao Precision Ceramics can provide many different types of alumina, including: injection molding, compression molding, isostatic pressing, slip casting and extrusion.
Material properties
High temperature resistance: Alumina can be used in oxidizing and reducing environments below 1650°C (2900°F), and in vacuum environments up to 2000°C (3600°F).
Wear Resistance: Alumina is a very hard ceramic that is excellent in wear resistance. It is ideal for abrasive blades or products.
Electrical Insulator: Alumina is commonly used as a high temperature electrical insulator, especially the higher purity grades, which have better resistivity.
Chemical Resistance: Alumina has good resistance to strong acids and bases at high temperatures and is ideal for applications requiring resistance to corrosive substances.
