What is the CE-LVD Low Voltage Directive?
The CE-LVD Directive, full name Low Voltage Directive, is a key regulation (2014/35/EU) formulated by the European Union for electrical equipment. The directive aims to ensure that electrical equipment with a rated voltage between 50 and 1000 volts (AC) and 75 to 1500 volts (DC) will not endanger the safety of humans, domestic animals and property when properly installed, maintained and used in accordance with its intended purpose.
