With the deepening and development of fire science and fire engineering, the connotation of combustion characteristics has been expanded from simple flame propagation and spread to include combustion heat release rate, combustion heat release amount, combustion smoke density and toxicity of combustion products and other parameters.
This standard is mainly a comprehensive evaluation of the flame retardant effect of building materials. According to the shape, material and use of materials, it can be divided into:(flat) building materials and products, flooring materials, tubular insulation materials, curtains, decorative fabrics for furniture products, wire and cable sleeves, enclosures and accessories for electrical equipment, foam for electrical appliances, furniture products, soft furniture and hard furniture, etc.
According to the index requirements in the standard, the combustion performance of the material is divided into four levels, A non-flammable, B1 non-combustible, B2 combustible, B3 flammable. Among them, the non-combustible material A is subdivided into two sub-levels, A1 and A2. In order to facilitate the corresponding reference with the European standard EN 13501-1, B1 is divided into two sub-levels, B and C, and B2 is divided into two levels, D and E. Material that does not reach grade E is grade F or B3!
