AGRICULTURE
While ferrous sulfate monohydrate is used as a raw material in plant protection and nutrition and other industrial applications, it can also be used as a direct fertilizer in agriculture. It is one of the essential trace elements for the development of plants. It helps acidify alkaline soils. It is necessary for enzyme activity and chlorophyll synthesis in plants.

It is used as a trace element source of ferrous in mineral element mixture formulations which is prepared to meet the mineral needs of animals in the feed additive industry. It is used as a mordant in wool dyeing and as an artificial colorant for canned black olives. It is used in the production of ferric sulfate, and in the production of ferric oxide pigments such as black-yellow-red. In wood production, ferrous sulfate solutions are used to give the tree its silver color.
