Product Description

Introduction: Potassium formate is a colorless transparent liquid or white solid, easy to absorb moisture, with reducibility, can react with strong oxidants, density of 1.9100g/cm3, soluble in water, saturated solution specific gravity of 1.58g/cm3, non-toxic and non-corrosive. Heating carbon-monoxide with potassium-hydroxide yields potassium formate, which is further acidified and distilled.Application: it is mainly used to prepare water-bearing oil well filling fluid. Since the end of 1990s, potassium formate has been applied to drilling and completion fluid, especially in high-density drilling and completion fluid system, and good results have been achieved. Potassium formate drilling fluid system has strong inhibition, good compatibility, environmental protection, reservoir protection and other outstanding advantages. Field application results show that potassium formate inhibits the hydration of clay.
