Summary:Corn Steep Liquor is one natural Corn Extract Liquid, derived from fresh corn. Which is rich in soluble corn protein, amino acid, carbohydrate, organic acids, vitamins, sugars, mineral nutrients and other bio-active molecules.

Advantage:
1.Much cheaper source of organic nitrogen, carbon, vitamins, micro-nutrients, only 1/5 cost of yeast protein or peptone
2.Rich soluble protein,mainly in form of free amino acid and active peptides

Applications :
1.As a source of supplemental nutrients in fermentation process, component of culture media for microorganisms
2.Used in the production of amino acid,enzymes,vitamins
Amino Acid---- such as glutamic acid, monosodium glutamate(MSG), lysine, phenylalanine, etc
Enzymes-----such as glucose oxidase, cellulose, Proteinase, saccharifying enzyme, amylase, etc
Vitamins-----such as vitamin VC, VB2, etc
3.Used as additive medium in production of antibiotic, such as penicillin, erythromycin, gentamicin, Spectinomycin, aureomycin, etc
Penicillin----CSL contains penicillin precursors. Adding corn steep liquor to penicillin production can increase penicillin production from 20u/ml to 100u/ml. Research has found that phenylethylamine in corn steep liquor is limited in binding to penicillin molecules, thereby increasing penicillin production
Erythromycin---Adding 1.5% corn steep liquor in the early stage of producing erythromycin can significantly increase the metabolic intensity in the early stage
4.Soil or water improvement, crude oil (petroleum) degradation
Corn Steep Liquor could promote the growth & reproduction of beneficial microorganisms in soil and water. Beneficial microorganisms and their metabolisms could improve quality of soil and water, even help degrade pollutants, especially degrade the crude oil.
