Aluminium-silicon Coated Steel 1. One of the main purposes of aluminium-silicon coated steel is to replace galvanized products, so aluminium silicon coated products have the same mechanical properties, dimensional accuracy and plate shape control with galvanized products.
2. Because the density of aluminium-silicon is lower than that of zinc, the coating weight can beless by using aluminium-silicon coated products instead of glavanized products.
3. Aluminium-silicon coated products have excellent corrosion resistance, several or even a dozen times than that of galvanized products.
4. Aluminium-silicon products have good high temperature resistance, therealmost isn't any change evenduring long-term use below 550ºC. The steel plate with aluminium-silicon coating will maintainthe bright appearance.
5. Aluminium-silicon has excellent heat reflectivity, with a light reflectance of about 80% when the temperature below 500 ºC.
6. The friction coefficient of aluminium-silicon coated products is lower, and low friction coefficient is favorable for drawing andforming.
Excellent Corrosion Resistance
The aluminium-silicon coated products have excellent corrosion resistance. Because of the compact Al2O3 oxide film formed by the oxidation of the aluminum surface, isolates the steel base from the oxidation medium, this makes the coating not cause further corrosion even under very bad environmental conditions, so its corrosion resistance is very strong, and it also has good anti-corrosion ability to strong acid, sea water, etc. The corrosion resistance of the aluminium-silicon coated steel is far stronger, about 3-5 times than that of the galvanized steel.
During the experiment of under the blazing sun for 20 years in different atmospheric environment, it shows that the corrosion resistance of aluminium-silicon coated steel is much better than that of galvanized steel.
