Sediment Sampler for collecting bottom sediments for biological, hydrological and environmental studies.
sediment sampler General
The grab is based on the Van Veen design. It is made of AISI 316 stainless steel and the surface is electro polished. The grab itself is manufactured from 3 mm plate (250 cm²), 4 mm for 1000 cm², 8 mm for a 2000 or 2500 cm² and 10 mm for 5000 cm².

12.310 - 2000 cm², (0,2 m²) - 50 L *

Can be achieved by adding 4 extra lead weights, 4 x 1 kg, item 13.310-4 (optional).
sediment sampler Lids
The small models are delivered with 4 lids; the 12.310 model Van Veen grab 2000 cm² has 2 lids available. By opening the lid(s) it is possible to take out one or more undisturbed sample to have a look at the stratification of the sediment without releasing the whole sample.
sediment sampler up to Norwegian ISO standard
Models marked with * have lids with stainless steel mesh and rubber mats to reduce the shock wave. They all fulfills the Norwegian ISO standard (16665 Water quality - Guidelines for quantitative sampling and sample processing for of marine soft-bottom macro fauna). Most standard grabs can easily be upgraded to the ISO norm by adding new frames and lids.
